This has to be one of my most requested posts. I get questions every day about how I pair my outfit.
When I’m getting ready for a shoot, I try to take time to prepare outfits. I will be using this last shoot as an example.
I always like to build my outfit around one main piece, This time, it was this multi-colored organza statement top from Nuraniya studios. I love the color pattern, it wasn’t over the top and it wasn’t too subtle.
I wanted to pair it with something that won’t take away from the color. The typical me was drawn to pairing it with a denim but it really didn’t look nice. I didn’t have a dark blue denim that went with it, and the white denim was a bit too slim. I wasn’t feeling the proportions at all.
I finally after many tries decided to work with this wide-legged trouser from Elora collection. You might remember the trouser from my Gtbank fashion weekend outfit post here. I loved that it was a little off-white, relaxed silhouette and the right length.
For my shoes, I recently got this double strapped, classic and gorgeous sandal from Zara. I already had too much drama from the top so what better way to balance it out than with a barely there sandal.
My choice of the bag shouldn’t be a surprise as its public knowledge that I’m obsessed with mini bags. I love the color of this one, it wasn’t too bright and it blended right in with the rest of the outfit.
The trick to pairing your clothes is keeping it clean and simple, once it starts to get clustered with too much color and too many prints, the whole look starts to get tacky and ratchet.
Keep accessories minimal if you like to accessorize and most importantly go with what makes you feel good.
How would you style this top loves? what would you pair it with?
