Day 2 of fashion week was the most confusing when it came to what to wear..
I was contacted by the house of kaya fashion brand months back about dressing me for day two which was the day they were showcasing. I wasn’t sure what his collection was going to look like and I had no idea what I wanted. I’ve had a major creative block for a while now, so I just told him to design whatever comes to mind for me. I had an outfit aside just in case things went wrong . I got my outfit on day 1 and I was scared of the fit and if it was going to be what I wanted.
I loved the dress, it has a sheer fabric in between and Ankara also but I was still having a hard time styling it to fit my style.
I got this round woven bag from Ellen and James that I was really obsessed with, I decided to work my way around it. I wanted to add a little edge to the look so I decided to go with a beret. A beret on the scarf? yes, please! After putting the look together, I could see it coming to life. I never really got to love it until I had my makeup and accessories.
Beauty: I wanted a dark-eye and glossy lip.I wanted a strong look and a smoky eye just puts it together.
I had an amazing photo session with photographer lexash and the gorgeous Jennifer oseh (theladyvhodka). check out the photos below.
I also got my photo take unawares by photographer friend Charles,
My favorite show from day 2 was the grey project show.I loved the bright blends of colors and the gorgeous print but what really got me was the styling. I loved the turban on the models and the bright colored cap on the male models was awesome. I love the layering of clothes, and grey does it so well with their pieces. I love the layering of points and the blend of different textures of fabrics.
Another favorite was the Elie Kuame collection.I love the white hue, I’m obsessed with burgundy and a well-made jacket gets me any day.
